Ministry takes place throughout the week and in all areas of life from small groups, flocks, married retreats, men’s backpacking trips, an annual church retreat, early Sunday morning prayer meetings and Bible studies. And of course with Missions. Please contact the church with questions about how you can take part.
Flocks
Flocks are small, local area Bible study groups hosted in the home of one our members. We either study and discuss a book of the Bible or a Christian doctrine book. Key to the flock group gathering is personal fellowship. Married, single/career and college aged all attend our flock gatherings in place of a regular group ministry schedule. Visitors are welcomed and encouraged to attend. Come see us with our hair down. Each flock is lead by an a pastor or elder.
- Thursdays @ 7:30: Valencia and Santa Monica
- Fridays @ 7:30: West LA, Eastside, Valley and South Bay
Married ministry topics and discussion will primarily take place during our second hour bible study time where couples can receive concentrated teaching and discussion with regard to marriage and parenting issues. We also have quarterly dinners at a member's home for fellowship and teaching and a yearly retreat away from the home and without the kids to encourage spiritual unity and growth. Flock ministries will also often cover topics related to marriage.
Children's and Youth Ministry
Second Hour
Following the main service and fellowship/refreshment time at 11:30am, there is what we call a "Second Hour" time for classroom format teaching. The pastoral staff will offer various classes, some on a rotating basis, such as FOF, Evangelism, Membership, Biblical counseling, Married topics, Single issues and Purity, Child Upbringing and many other subjects. Children are in their respective Sunday School classes during this time.
Local Convalescent Outreach
Twice a month we visit two local convalescent facilities to spend time with the residents, read Scripture, sing praise songs and hymns and to speak of salvation in Christ. Many of the residents are stricken with Alzheimer's and have few moments of lucidity. We pray that we are a comfort. So many seniors and residents in these types of facilities are lonely, in pain and without Christ. There is comfort in the knowledge and message of Christ - a hope better than any worldly hope. We pray that we are faithful to sow the seeds of the gospel and depend upon the grace of God and the work of the Spirit for salvation.
