The question is: Can we teach? Can we minister? Can we shepherd with our lives as well as with our mouths? And if you want to look at it, that’s what Paul is trying to get at this particular portion of Scripture. He is telling Timothy, his younger son, his spiritual son in the Lord, that these are the things that make for an excellent minister—an excellent minister not only in preaching, but also in life.
